I am interested in buying one for my everyday graphical needs...

I know I can get...

A Macbook Pro with this spec for like £1,471.10
(£1,252.00 ex VAT) with 3 years warrenty
* 15 Inch screen
* 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
* 1440 x 900 resolution
* 2GB memory
* 160GB hard drive
* 8x double-layer SuperDrive
* NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT graphics with 256MB SDRAM

The questions are;

1.) Is this a good investment?
2.) Are there any better offers?
3.) Yes I can afford to buy it from the off, but is there cheaper?

I tossed and turned on weather to go with the pro or to stay with macbook reg.
I went with Macbook reg, because at home I'm running a 21 inch monitor so the screen size wasn't as important. I'm running 2.2g it came with 120g HD and 1gig ram. I had it for 6months and bumped up to a 240g hd and 2g ram for an out of pocket cost of $200 and it was a five minute 2 screw install for me in the battery area.
Otherwise there wasn't anything I was aware of that I've missed.
