ok.... damn did i just miss out on like the last century or something??? i was just recently informed that the u.s. has state quarters!!! is this true??? i looked it up and yeah there is lots of pics of the diff ones... i've never seen one my self and just wanted to know if you guys have??? or are these just prototypes???and are they worth 25 cents now??? maybe im just to far gone??? hell ok i'll shut up now Shocked

It's been going on for a few years now, and they're through most of the states. Something like four a year I think...just google "U.S. Mint"

State quarters started back in 1999. They slowly came in to play. I think they only did 3 states a year. Ours came out the first year so I've known about them since the start because of that.All states should be out by this year.

Started in 1999, they're doing 5 states a year so they have all 50 in a 10 year period. They're doing them in the order that the states joined the union.

Matt if you didn't know about them then you wouldn't think to look at the backs of the quarters you've had in your possession. You've probably spent several without ever knowing it.

My son was collecting them for a while. Trying to get one of each from each mint producing them (D & P). Gave up after a while as it was a pain to find certain ones. Then when we moved he lost the book. Confused
