OK Claf, and anyone else,
Last night my 12 year old nephew asked me how to do a gif, so I showed him this little 2 framer, it took me @ 5 minutes total, (yea I know, it looks like it too) but anyway, it's very easy, I started with the top image in PS, duplicated it, took the second image liquified the wings a bit, and saved both images, took them to ImageReady, under the Window tab, open your animation, and layers, with the 1st image up, go down to the Animation window and duplicate the frame, now you have 2 of the same frames, with me so far? Smile now click on the second image, (not in the animation window, but the actual image) and at the top, hit duplicate layer, now drag it with the move tool and hold it over the first image, before you drop it, hold down the shift key and let go, that will center the image, trust me, you want to do that Wink now you have two frames of the second bird in the animation window, go to the layers window, with the first frame clicked, hit the layer visibility box, (the little eyeball) frame 1 should appear in the animation window, turn off the visibility layer of the second frame, then click on the second frame and do the same thing, but reverse the visibility so each frame should have its own layer visibility, in the animation window, click between them and you should see movement in the wings, there you can control the timing of the wings flapping, after you have an animation going, stop the animation, click PS, and hit "save to web", make sure its saved as a gif, I bet there are other ways of doing it, but that's how I taught myself, and it seems to work. Any questions should be sent to Rey... Laughing

Yep, a simple way to start. Even a simple two framer, with a few 'tween' frames thrown in can be quite effective. This is...
Frame 1, tween, tween, tween, Frame 2, tween, tween, tween

You tweeny bopper you, Wink thanks Brad Wink

I went back and looked at what you did, and I noticed that I had a setting wrong when I tried to tween something in the past, so I stayed away from it, anyway I think I got it now Very Happy thanks again Brad, you always were the old Giffer from way back. Razz

the magic of the giffy noooooooooooooooooo

but I just know you guys arn't gonna shut up til I do one Laughing Laughing Laughing

hmmmm time to have a look at much later sources to give me plenty of time to work some rather first grade style 1 + 1 type giffy magic. I ain't promising anything, i'll consult the gods of the gifs, and attempt to magic up a rather amazing (probably 3 frame jerk-a-thon) of a smooth gif (disclaimer: gif will most likely be as smooth as a piece of high grade industrial sandpaper)

So there you have it, I will try, prepare for the biggest fall since that guy who jumped out of that plane with a bust parachute Very Happy

Yeah, do it marco, but don't ask me for any help! I don't have a clue as to what I'm doing cause I don't bother with the finer details till someone points out the fact that I've missed them.

Okay, just some small tip for smooth movement, you can use the 'liquify' in the 'filter' tool or 'warp' in the 'transform' tool.
