Ok so far it looks like this may work out, so far some great answers to questions from the Guru's. Remember its your question so the more information the better the answer from the guru's. Oh yeah and don't ever think your question is stupid, cause its better to ask than never learn.

Aw hell. I'll take advantage of this here Guru business.
What's never shocking to me is just how many things I don't know about Photoshop.
I'm trying to pull a question that I need answered off the top of my head and there's so many vying for my attention, it's difficult to even think one out fully.
I've only ever done two tuts that I think I fully completed. The "kiosk" tut that became so popular here after Billtv did it, and then the sketch tut I goofed of with and used on members images..with my own twist of course.
So, now well, I don't know how to do any of the things people learn, and use all the time..first question comes to mind is

QUESTION 1:What is this "flood filter" you people are always going on about?

QUESTION 2: How does one use "color range" to make a selection? can ya?

QUESTION 3: Is there a way to do like Paintshop, and use the "Rubberband" type effect on lines made with the pen tool?

Thanks in advance. This could prove to be quite enlightening.
I would like to pay somehow for your services so I will toss out a bit of Illustration wisdom.
a "GIF" is not pronounced with a hard "G" but is actually pronounced "JIFF".
I had a bit of a personal laugh putting on Rey when he was in Fla..the conversation went along perfectly natural, I deliberately said GIF the wrong way several times within a few seconds, and I do believe I caught a quick flash of concern cross his face. It was hard not to giggle..I mean ..
maybe he says it the wrong way too. He didn't use the word in front of me, and I was sorta gonna save it for next year to work on, but...priorities aye mates?

As for the flood tool, it is a cheesy plug in you can download it hear and try it for free.

I work with pros who STILL pronounce it gif instead of jiff.

re: Question 2: (and i'm no guru)
Color Range command: This powerful command makes it possible to build up a complex selection based on a sampled color range. Follow these steps to use this command:
Sample the predominate color you want to create your selection from using the Eyedropper tool and then choose Select > Color Range.
In the Color Range dialog you can adjust the amount of similar colors used in the selection by using the Fuzziness slider.

The Color Range dialog offers an interactive yet sophisticated approach to selecting specific colors in a range.

Add or remove colors from the range by using the Add and Subtract from Sample Eyedropper tools and clicking on colors in the image window or preview area.
If you want to preview the selection in the image window, choose from the options in the Selection Preview menu.
When you're satisfied with the color range selection, click OK to create your selection.
