B. Even though yours was a decent chop, I felt his showed a bit more as far as execution...and I wasn't a big fan of the fact that you used an old source as part of the chop.

To all those that find fault and beleive that people a slipping thru, well I guess this is where psc is going, glad Im not around as much as I use to be and after all the bitching and whining dont think I will be around all that much in the future.

This was a great contest and the only free contest of its kind I am aware of, shame we cant be happy with what we have, and cant find nice things to say. Before you all get on your high horses and start slanging of at me, critiquing is different that's fine but saying its the worst round and choppers are not trying that just sucks in my opinion, and could be a little bit of bad sportsmanship.

Sorry about the rant rey.

Perhaps some people didn't live up to expectations, but I see no need to rub their noses in it. I tried to put forth a workmanlike effort and avoid embarrassment. I think I did that, but the time constraints were a pain. I assume everyone has family and job obligations that make it tough to put together their best work in a two day window. I found myself chopping in 15-30 minute sessions. I'll bet others did, too. The fanciful ideas that came to mind wouldn't have been possible with the time available. So I went with something obvious. Prosaic. I'm not going to criticize.

I must say that my opponents have been gentlemanly in defeat and victory. Who can ask for more than that?

I too retract my statement if you found the image Kfroese.

As for the footprints Rey, I answered you on that, and stand by my decision, it was not a forgetful mistake, it was a choice in relation to the theme of the chop.

Favs:

Stevster, Deshone, Mason, Janfet, V.V.P.

Enjoyed:

Hellraiser's, I thought was a great idea and overall nice despite the shadow.

Loved Serp's idea. The painting just seemed a bit flat.

Disappointed:

Sorry to see Arcaico go out. Sad

Also, I thought Hungry's chop was a very unique idea and well-chopped...sorry to see him go out as well.

Nice round, IMO...some great stuff.

took a chance by leaving the giants footprints out, I had them all done, but true the realism aspect was lost leaving them out. But they took up too much visual space, drew the eye way too much.

And there was a stronger reason for leaving them out, I hope the references are strong enough to convey the similarity to Jason and the Argonauts classic movie, with the spartan statue that comes to life. Because of the special effects, and indeed oversights, the men left footprints, yet guess who did not... thats right Mr big being super imposed onto the film, left no footprints. Sure an obscure reference, I bet absolutely nobody gets it, bit hey, I was true to where I wanted it to go, and the rest of the work hopefully is strong enough too.

P.S. I thought it was a great entry. You just missed a little something. No big deal. If that was my entry, I think I would just stick with. "oop, I missed that." Laughing Laughing

If I messaged someone to say hey you missed this, then got a reply, I would take it as read, and not, not reply, wait until comp ends then put it in a thread. It's like you totally disregard my opinion entirely.

Why even ask me in the first place?

The only reason I put it in the thread is because you mentioned it. I figured I would let people know your reason for leaving it out. Didn't you want them to know the story behind the image and your reason for leaving out the footprints?? It was nothing that bad. Really. Have a beer on me.

I wanted to see if you knew what you had left out.

I knew it was an old source from here, and still loved it. Not like you didn't do a lot of the work yourself
