Hi
I made a video in windows moviemaker of my work on PSC since joined. I want to put it on Utube but was wondering about music i.e copyrights etc. I don't suppose I can just choose a fav of mine and then upload without getting into trouble so I was wondering where I can get music from thats above the law and doesn't infringe copyrights ( unfortunely I don't have money so any ideas?

cheers
Mel Wink

Yo Mel,

Though rather BRUSK, Splodge's answer is fairly typical and mostly correct.

"LEGALLY" you can't just plunk anyone's music onto your video and then "publish" it in a public place.

BUT Michael Jackson and Paul McCartney have bigger fish to fry than hunting YOU down and suing your pants off! Wink

And, if you haven't actually made any money / profits from said particular video, they will most likely just send you a letter (well, their LEGAL department will send the letter - they chouldn't give two poops about you themselves Huh..) saying STOP DOING THAT and you'll remove "Shake Your Booty" from your video and everyone will be happy.

And, again Shocked Splodge makes a good and somewhat accurate point: giving credit where credit is due is NEVER EVER a bad thing to do.

(I speak from being a music producer in Toronto for a decade and a half, and being a songwriter myself. Geez, I WISH someone would steal my music... PLEASE! Razz)
