This gives me a great idea!!! I would like to start with me and Reinman. I would like to take one of my videos and have Rein add his instrument and vocals. He can even replace the video if he has the capabilities, Then he can pass it to the next person who wants to add something etc. etc. What do ya think?
Here is a song I would like to do.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eus05ID2QrU&feature=channel_page Or he can pick one of these

I'll I will record a different song. I would like to start it because I can't read music and it would probably be harder for me to follow someone else. I would love l@rue to play too.

It needs more cowbell! Smile

Hmm... I'd have to wrap my head around the technical side of it. The trick is managing separate audio and separate video tracks. A bit beyond my current iMovie capabilities.

Not sure how to proceed - I'm certainly open to putting on a track after Rey starts it (as long as he tunes his guitar to concert pitch with an electronic tuner Wink ) but from then on I'm not sure how to proceed.

And do I add Hammond organ or Squeeze to whatever - ah that choice will vex me fer sher! Huh..

i think you'll need to have seperate video and audio, or every one does the whole song and you cut/chop and edit it that way, getting perfect pitch an tone might be a problem, but i have adobe sound booth and premiere pro Smile

The thing is the only way to get a "feel" of playing together is to actually be playing along with previous takes/tracks by the other musicians. Trying to cut/splice different takes from different locations/times is almost ALWAYS unworkable. I see it as making the music track the BACKBONE (so audio is King) and then cut the images to the audio afterward (much like pro animation folks do things - first the talking, then the visual action).

thumright

... I don't have to grow a BEARD!! Shocked

Lyrics seem to work for our PSC Ideal (though we rarely achieve it! Wink)

Together we'll stand
Divided we'll fall
Come on now people
Let's get on the ball
And work together
Come on, come on
Let's work together
(Now now people)
Because together we will stand
Every boy, every girl and man

People, when things go wrong
As they sometimes will
And the road you travel
It stays all uphill
Let's work together
Come on, come on
Let's work together
You know together we will stand
Every boy, girl, woman and man

Oh well now, two or three minutes
Two or three hours
What does it matter now
In this life of ours
Let's work together
Come on, come on
Let's work together
(Now now people)
Because together we will stand
Every boy, every woman and man

Ahhh, come on now...
Ahhh, come on, let's work together...

Well now, make someone happy
Make someone smile
Let's all work together
And make life worthwhile
Let's work together
Come on, come on
Let's work together
(Now now people)
Because together we will stand
Every boy, girl, woman and man

Oh well now, come on you people
Walk hand in hand
Let's make this world of ours
A good place to stand
And work together
Come on, come on
Let's work together
(Now now people)
Because together we will stand
Every boy, girl, woman and man

roxy music did a version too

huub666: if we want it to be seen outside of PSC it's gonna have to be an old classic like the original, but did you notice the recording equipment that guy had on the original? Shocked

That's up to YOU now, isn't it? Wink

You only limit yourself - try some Hippy POP. Might be "interesting" for you to try, and I've found that if a person is a "real" musician, they'll try anything once. (musically speaking - though most musicians will try ANYTHING once Twisted Evil)

I think I would have loved to see a Lenigrad Cowboys concert - they are like DEVO on bad acid! Very Happy

-------

What I'd suggest, folks, is one of us ARRANGE the song into a concrete "bed track". I could do this or maybe Rey, but basically we need a skeleton to build on. Normally I lay down a guide track or two (drums/bass/etc.) and that becomes the framework we build on.

I think it would be an error to copy a specific VERSION of this song - we need to create OUR OWN. That is why I'm drawn to the original Canned HEat version as it is really simple and lays out the basic truth of this song without too much over production. If we use that, we can then OVER PRODUCE IT ourselves! Laughing

I'm fine to do the basic arrangement... I could do a basic guide drums/bass/rhythm version and then also one with just the drums... which would be the version we'd build on.

? ? ? Question ? ? ?
