As a symbolic figure, I like the guy. However, I prefer to:
Believe nothing/Trust nothing, especially with regards to politics and politicians. Everything is a hidden agenda.
I know, I live in California.

Wait a minute. Weren't you the guy pointing out to me which of the amendments to the Constitution that Bush tried to undo?

True. That is why I prefer limited government.
Obama is using the economic downturn to create a much more powerful government, where politicians will have even more power to push their agendas.

There you go! Thats what I'm talking about!! The government is supposed to be servants of the people not the other way around. Now who's serving who! I've been paying into social security for 35 years and I'll be luck if I see a single dime of my money when I get old enough to collect it while the fat cats in congress are guaranteed a FULL pension upon completion of only 1 term! And people wonder why they want to run for office! It's not to serve the people they represent! Its to stuff their pockets and retire with as much of the tax payer money they can grab at our cost! Ohh I forgot, I come here to forget about this SHIT! Sorry for running my mouth!

I've been to a few local government meetings and conferences, stuff for city officials, mayors etc. I'm used to hearing them talk about specific issues, and ways to solve specific problems and move a city forward.
I love the progress that Obama has made so far, but I don't like reading the articles posted by online news sources and video clips on tv news. All I hear is generic sound bytes. I don't hear the specific issues discussed in detail. Obama reminds me of the Pope in that he just travels around, makes a good impression, says some words of wisdom, takes some media photos and moves onto the next event of the day. I'm not saying that he isn't doing any real work, I'm just saying that mass media simplifies the stories too far, and I'm not learning what I'm wanting to know when it comes to the real changes being made.

Most of what he did in the first 100 days wasn't surprising to me.
I figured the dems wouldn't exemplify
"bipartisanship", and government waste wouldn't really be cut.
But the biggest disappointment for me was how he threw the "government transparency" pledge out the window; pushing through the Stimulis bill before people could read it. I was kind of hoping he'd follow through on that one.

Another thing, is anyone else a little bit concerned about how the government is using taxation as a form of punishment?
The government has figured out that if they can get the public mad at someone, they can violate the constitution, and just take their money as punishment.
Even Jay Leno saw the problem with that.
