Just out of curiosity, where were you, and what were you doing when Apollo 11 landed on the moon?

Me? ... I was on a cattle ranch for the summer in Utah, age 12 and pissed off as hell that had to watch the moon landing on an old black and white TV with rabbit ears, instead of a beautiful color set I had at home. I was a very spoiled, naive kid when I was 12.

but...............all the pictures from the moon were in "crappy" black and white...........you didn't miss much.................

LOL, beat me to it synthvet.

I was visiting my brother and his family in Brunswick Georgia. I was working for Delta Airlines at the time and had been able to fly up to visit them from Miami for free. Ah, the good old days.

I was up in an old oak tree in my friends front yard, when his old man came out and said "they did it, we landed on the moon!" back then, it was a large tree, now when I see it, I think that tree is not very big, but I always think about that moment in history when I'm in the old neighborhood. Later that night I remember standing in my front yard looking real hard at the moon, to try to see anything flying around.
