HAHAHAHA Gravytrain...last year I got 4%, and this year the story was no one was going to get any raises at all. I'm just thankful my job is secure. The 2.5% is icing!!!

We have a joke in my family, that I won't bore you with all the details of how it came about, but we do this thing where we say, "I'm OK!"

I'm OK!

Glennhanna, you're ok too. Things WILL get better.

Perfect timing to see this thread.

Don't know if anyone noticed me gone (since I really don't post any chops anymore it seems). But things went well sideways for a while there and PSC fell way down the list of priorities for me.

Long story compressed:

- Pay at new job about $17,000+ lower than previous job
- Medical bills piled up
- Savings and retirement wiped out completely. I mean COMPLETELY. Don't even have the accounts anymore.
- Got sued for one of my daughter's medical bills (straightened out now)
- Fell behind on Mortgage(s) and other bills
- Dang near lost the house
- Found out what depression can be like (hint: it sucks ass)
- Budget not happy, going through financial counseling and mortgage modification
- Wife not happy. Going through marriage counseling (and marriage modification?)
- Kids not happy. Going through teenage years.
- Figured out I can't make everyone happy at the same time and still stay sane.

But things can always get worse right? Confused

Well, my interview went well enough. I had a meeting with a professional temp agency.

I scored "advanced" on all of my Microsoft office skills and scored 99% accuracy with typing and data entry. I "officially" type 74 WPM now, just like my resume says.

She was impressed with my skills, and will most likely be placing me with the state dept. of health in a data entry position that will get us through the first week of October, perhaps longer.

At least it is something, if not permanent.

Confused

That's great, Delia! I've known temps to be hired permanently by the companies that they were sent to... maybe this will be the foot in the door to such a position? *crosses fingers*

Looks like a lot of you are going through hard times.

I just learned that even though I've been on my own for years now, since I'm not 24 or over... I will be considered a dependent of my parents for financial aid for school, so their... pretty darn good... yearly income will be reflected when I am considered.

Not happy. The financial aid advisor said there's nothing he can do, despite marriage and divorce paperwork and proof of bills. What a crock.

Evil or Very Mad

Still gonna go though... so despite finances I really can't complain. I'm excited.

Tofu's post gets to me. Good luck with your family!!!

don't know were to start...

i know....i'll start with some good news (more than welcome to me)
me and my lady going to take the step...yes Marriage... Smile Very Happy
and everything was going the right way... Smile
until a few weeks ago... Sad
my future wife her niece spread some serious lies behind her back...to make a long story short, the whole f***ing family turned their back to my future wife...they all believe that stupid lie, and i have tried to convince them..without any succes
what makes that i now have troubles with my future wife to make her smile 'cause she cry's all the time... witch i understand...
this was the last thing i tought could go wrong before the wedding...
the only thing i can do is give her the support and love she needs and be there for her...i really hope this situation wil get better soon...
but like tofu said it could get worse

i just know we gonna survive this and get stronger of it...
either way the marriage is going as planned...she wouldn't here of cancelling it...
