File>Save for Web and Devices.

Save as JPEG and play with the quality settings to get down to proper file size.

If you need to decrease dimensions, you can do it under the "Image Size" tab of the "Save for Web" dialog box.

Hope this helps!

Hi,

Try pressing Ctrl + Alt + i.
When you did that a screen pops up with the actual size of the image.
In that screen you can adjust your image size.

If that doesn't solve your problem, you sure have to describe your problem more accurately. Smile

Viagra? Levitra? Extenz?

Oops. Wrong resizing issue. Carry on.

Save your psd, then flatten it. At this point sometimes I may make additional adjustments.

Make sure your image is no larger than 1280x960 @ 72dpi.
Go to File/Save for Web/ and make your image match the requirements for Advantage or non-Advantage members. You can find these requirements in the "Help" link at the top of the page.

When you close, it asks you if you want to save changes. Click no if you want to preserve your layered psd.

Are you sure you're in RGB mode? Also 8-bit (not 16 or 32)?

I've never had to flatten my PSD for entries here. I always us the "Save for Web and Devices" and set the image size as well as the "optimize for file size" dialog. Works every time.

You may also want to save to an entirely new file name in case the system is caching the old data for some reason.

Stick with it Richard! We'll help you get it straightened out.

Do you know how to make screenshots of what you're doing? Then you could upload them to a hosting site like ImageShack, PhotoBucket or OhShot. Then we can actually see what you're doing. Cool

And it may be dumb but make sure you save it as Jpeg to submit. I always work within the original which is sized for the site. Hope it helps! Very Happy

For your next exercise, try designing a 'Avatar' for your 'Posts'

(The little image next to your Web-name).

It has to be a specific size (try 90x90 pixels would be a good size). I'm sure a lot of guys here will give you a helping hand in designing it, that's if you run into trouble.

Or you can PM me, and I'll help OK?

We'll have you looking like a Pro PS'er in no time! Very Happy

Wiz
