Hi Everyone,

I have a MACmini that doesn't have an airport card.

I do have a Linksys Wireless-G USB Adapter WUSB54G Network adapter that I do not use on my Windows machine anymore.

I tried to use it on the MAC. I downloaded the Ralink chip driver, which installed with no problem, but it doesn't see the device.

When I have the adapter plugged in, and I go to System Profile, it shows up in the USB.

How can I get the MAC to see the adapter?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Jim

Do you see a triangle shape at the top of the screen near the clock in the menu strip? If it is there click on it for a pull down menu and turn airport on.

Very Happy

I guess I thought your wireless adapter would show up the same way. Have you looked in the System Preferences to see if it shows up there?

Back when I had an older Macmini I used a plug in drawing pad with a wireless mouse on it. It was the closest then to a wireless mouse.

Hope you get some info!

Thanks. I did check System Preferences, and I do not see it there also.

I guess I will just to buy a Wireless USB Adapter that is MAC ready.

Have you tried finding the program icon in your application folder and double clicking it to see if a dialog opens to turn on your wireless gadget?

If that doesn't work, I'm stumped. sorry
