OK, I was a little hesitant to post about this, but yesterday was my last day of work, after 18 years, at Duke University. I was caught up in a payroll reduction initiative and, along with a total of 1,100 other employees, received an "early retirement offer" so yesterday was my official last day complete with party and engraved gold watch.
And last night we got this in North Carolina.
Coincidence?
All in all it was a decent buyout and I am fine with it, just looking forward to a completely new phase of my life.

Jordan? You live in MICHIGAN, dude. You are SUPPOSED to get lots of snow!
Alan, you live in The South. WTF?!
Maybe it was God's way of tossing some confetti your way to celebrate your new found freedumb!?
All my best wishes for whatever you are gonna do to fill up your days - may the filling be pumpkin (or apple, if you prefer!).

Sign of the times, but hey it's an opportunity for something else.
Having observed some of your work I going to take the liberty of offering a suggestion. YerPalAl's children's book that you certainly can illustrate and from what I read in the forum from you will not be short on ideas.
You could be PSC's version of Grandma Moses (I had to put that in)
Cheers and success!!!

Why are there no "hell froze over" jokes in here? You people are SLIPPING! Slipping I tell ya!
Seriously Al I hope you enjoy retirement. I'll be there in only 30 short years. Of course another economic depression and I may never get to retire.
Hey! I has idea. Now that he has all this free time.... Al for mod!
