I just had an idea for another H2H type contest. Note this is NOT a suggestion to replace the H2H. H2H is the grandaddy of all contests around here and should continue forever. Sorry to bring this up during the current H2H but if I don't type it now I'll forget it by the time H2H is over.

Anyway the thought is that you start with any even number of players (has to be an even number though). Players are randomly matched up with each other for each round. So the winners from round 1 go "back into the pot" to be randomly paired again. This goes until the eventual 1-on-1 match-up for tourney winner.

Also, as a sort of relief valve, when the number of round winners results in an odd number of contestants (i.e. 3, 5, 7, etc) the previous round loser with the highest number of votes becomes the wild-card to round out the entrants to an even number. As is the PSC way ties would be determined by who posted first. Make sense?

For example start with 12 contestants and 6 winners advance to round 2. Round 2 would have 3 winners going into round 3 along with the top vote getting loser from round 2. Round four would then have 2 winners going head-to-head for the title.

How about an anonymous one that isn't H2H? A pool of contestants work on a source, and it gets voted on by members. It wouldn't matter how many people began the game. Say 89 people signed up. The top 64 would move onto round 2. I guess voters would get 44 votes to spend, if they wanted in round 1. Round 2, voters get up to 32 votes for the the pool of 64 contenders... The 32 top-scoring participants would go onto round 3. Round 3, voters would have 16 votes to spend, and so on.... until only 2 people remain, and voters would get one vote to spend for the final round.

i do like the final round having only one vote per person... Is that how the H2H is?

Yes because there's only two entrants in the final round and you can only vote for one. Cool

I like your idea Glenn! Very Happy

nice idea Tofu, also you could spin this idea to a team chop co-op style idea, the same amount of players as your idea would halve the number of rounds, but hey while we are throwing ideas around Smile
