First off howdy again to all, and thanks to those who have welcomed me.
I've now been a member for about 48 hours and have made seven chops in five different contests, so I'm having a blast here.
Here comes the funny part: I know ZERO about photoshop, and the program I am using is more like a toy for kids compared to what some of you are using.
I was not aware that I was using a toy until I saw some of the incredible work that I have seen here in the past two days.
I am now completely fascinated with photoshop and want to be able to do work on the same level as you people.
My question is what program should I be using? Keeping in mind that I have NO experience.

(now standing on my soap box with right index finger pointing up)

I shall continue using my "toy" program and participating here while slowly learning how to chop like a pro.
And if anyone can tell me which program to use, that would be appreciated.

Most people here use some form of Photoshop, some use Photoshop Elements, some use GIMP, a few use other programs. The point is, use what you can work with and feel comfy with.

I'm highly motivated to be un-ambitious today.

Don't sweat it Willie. I started here using Fireworks, then GIMP, then CS2 and now CS3. I still suck with all of them but that's beside the point.

My point is to stick with it. Find tutorials that look like something you want to learn and DO the tutorials. Ask shite-loads of questions of the people here. Almost all of us will help you.

Biggest thing is to take the constructive criticisms of your chops as just that. Constructive help. They aren't personal attacks. Cool
