Photoshop Contest Forum Index - Ask the Experts - Lens Flare and Reflection? - Reply to topic

Post Wed Sep 29, 2010 11:21 pm   Reply with quote

It won't let me post the picture because i'm new but can anyone help me with steps to recreate this image but with my own name? (It will be for my blog header)

Artist: Kaskade
Album: Dance.Love (purple shiny text)

I'm not sure how to do a lens flare off the text (anybody know that font?) or how to do the kaleidoscope reflection surrounding it??

I assume those are clouds behind a gradient

Any help would be great!! Thanks!

I am NOT an expert, but I would take a cloud photo with a color overlay (gradient pink to purple)
New Layer, "Kaskade" ie "Your Name" in a similar font from dafont.com (maybe SuperPoint, Dot Spot or V5 Prophit) I think the all the glitz and bling bling come from simplebrushes. Try these: http://www.obsidiandawn.com/sparklies-photoshop-gimp-brushes

I think burning the edges of the gradient layer will help get to that effect, and maybe a lens flare on a particular letter you want to stress.

Well.... not perfect, but I am at work, and have to go work now... It is similar, at least!

Well, I don't know why my link isn't working. You'll have to imagine how "similar" it is.... Laughing

Well that looks fucking gay!!! Does nobody ROCK anymore? Hehehehe!
You could try duplicating the text layer a few times, rasterising them and then using motion blur.
There are some disco-ish fonts here(I'm not looking through them to find what you want).

That's a still from an advert, they used Trapcode Starglow in After Effects.

Duplicated the comp, flipped it and masked it...

No time at all in After Effects, Fucking ages in Photoshop.
