I admit, I'm a damn tree hugger Confused I've planted thousands of trees throughout my life, and if I can, I'll plant thousands more, make a difference, go today, plant a tree for your kids, or for whatever reason, make no excuses, planting trees is the best thing you can do for the earth Wink

Oh, and go here; http://climaterealityproject.org/ bookmark this site, and find out how much we need to do something now.

I'll post pictures of my latest batch of trees later Smile

If you have any tree's that you have planted, post a picture of them here. Shocked

Yeah, planting a tree would help, if you had a UV lamp on it all the time. Huh..

They respire carbon dioxide at night, possibly enough to offset thier daily consumption.

Aside from that, if you want to stop climate change then why not picket china?
They have been playing with the weather directly...

If you want to talk about climate change, perhaps you should talk to the folks shooting flak cannons into the atmosphere with the direct intention to change the weather, as opposed to all those folks driving cars whose efforts get offset and pale in comparasin to algaa and phyctoplanctons absorption rates.

Shocked

Laughing

I'm not very up-to-date about the effect of planting trees, but nevertheless, I find it a good initiative, helpful or not.
Fact is that every day, too much green is dissapearing. Compromising that by planting new ones, is a good act, even if it were just to show that you care about natural environment.

Born in south Florida, I've seen firsthand the effects of major tree removal, this place had a huge canopy of trees when I was a kid, even when it was hot as hell outside you could go under any tree of almost any size and cool off, now you go under a tree and a hot wind hits you in the face, when you replace trees with concrete and asphalt only one thing can happen.. Twisted Evil As for countries trying to manipulate the weather, I believe this is happening too, it is the ultimate weapon, do some research on HAARPS, not only can it affect the weather, but it can cause earth quakes, and other major problems, the only way we can fight back is by planting more trees, they increase the value of your home/property if nothing else, to get even more value, plant a fruit tree, that's a no brainer, I planted a Key Lime tree from seed in my back yard, and besides getting tons of free Key Limes, the coolest thing was watching the butterflies laying their eggs in the protected thorny branches, then to see the offspring do it again and again, until a damn hurricane split and killed the tree Confused

If your not planting a tree, go hug a stump Laughing

As promised, here are a few shots I just took from my tiny backyard, it's like 50' x 20', and when I moved here, there was not 1 plant other than some weeds growing, almost everything was grown from seed.

Next batch of Foxtail Palms, there are more than a few hundred here, and I have others not shown.

A cool canopy overhead, its hotter than shit today Smile

From a coconut... Rolling Eyes

Little stuff on one of my rooftop gardens, all from seed.

If you have a garden that you planted, please post pictures of it.

This bromeliad was started from a baby, the bloom got over 15 feet tall, unfortunately the plant dies after it blooms.

Check out the honey bees doing their thing
