I'd like to introduce you to a little word game I learned once from my brother. Its called "Tom Swifties". The idea is to make up a statement, attributed to Tom Swift, in which either that action or the qualifier is a play on the subject of the statement.

Allow me to demonstrate the action variant.

"Thar she blows!" Tom wailed!

or, as an example of the qualifying kind:

"I'm going to harpoon a whale!" Tom said pointedly.

Pene and I have been playing for a couple of days and I thought it might be fun to let you lot unleash your creativity with this.

Some more samples:

"I wish I were a lumberjack." Tom pined.

"I farted in the bathtub." Tom bubbled.

"I'm adding to this graffiti." Tom remarked.

OK, enough from me, now it's up to you.

NEXT!!!

No thanks Al. I'd rather hear a story about a bridge.

That wasn't much of a story though was it. Totally shallow narrative with no actual explanation as to why the bridge was falling down and no information as to who this "fair lady" is. Very disappointing.

Nice! I like that it was the first of the Hawken Plan bridges to be constructed and that until it was completed the bridge was known as the Jubilee Bridge in honour of King George V.
