I have some very old photo negatives. Is there a way to scan them from/with ps to positive?

Idea Question

I just read that is you Scan the film using the software that comes with the scanner. Select "negative" in the scan options, the software will automatically remove the orange mask and invert the colors. If the software has a TWAIN driver, you can also scan from the Photoshop menu, but the same procedure applies.

If you scan as a positive, the image will be too blue if you simply invert it in Photoshop.

I have an older Epson Perfection 4490 PHOTO Flat Bed that does a good job with negatives (and color slides), color and black & white. It was about $120 US a few years ago. They probably have better ones now. This one has a light in the lid that shines through the negs which are scanned from beneath. Very Happy
