Havent used photoshop in years, but found this site & its inspired me to get at it once again! I've notice alot of images are animated, can this be done with photoshop or is it a combination of programs?
thanks!

Welcome! I'm currently in the Dark Ages with PS7, so I have to use Adobe Image Ready to animate GIF's. I think anything from CS3 on allows you to create animations in PS. Good luck. Happy chopping!

Back when I went to Art School for a minute in (2003) using PS 7.0, we would export to Adobe after effects for animation. I dont know if the new versions of photoshop have an animation capability. I prefer to stay still myself, but Im someone is up on the new software capabilities though.

The big difference is Photoshop or photoshop extended. Extended allows animation. In versions after PS7 they did away with the image ready and incorporated it into the program.

Best way to check for it is to look under header Window and scroll down should be after adjustments and before brushes. If there you have animation. And 2 choices how to use it, either with cells or newer style similar to flash. Hope that helps
