There used to be a thread like this, but I can't find it anymore.
Since there are a lot of new members, I think it's worth to try.

TX = short for Texel (island where I live)
Pinky is my nickname from the 80's, when I was in Israel in a kibbuts among mostly english or english speaking people. A dutch friend of mine used to call me 'Pinkel' (He once saw a punk-guy on TV who really looked like me / look-alike) My real name is Marlon.
But the English people were looking for a shorter name: so it became: 'Pinky'

Gort is a character from the sci-fi classic movie The Day The Earth Stood Still. I saw this movie as a child and it had a profound effect on me. I realized that you can gain a whole new perspective on things if you just step out and view a situation as if you were a complete outsider.

Yes, parts of the movie now seem silly, but the basic storyline is wonderful and the graphics were pretty good for 1951. Viewing it with my child-like eyes, I was filled with awe and wonder and hope for the future.

My real name is Patrick. People call me Pat. When I was deciding on a screen name, I decided to use my real name plus a consonant and a vowel that would, I thought,
give it both a masculine edge and a soft touch. So, the re was added to Pat to form the word Patre. It is pronounced Pa as in Grandpa and tre as tray. I also like the idea that the Latin word for father is Pater, the Spanish Padre etc, and thus, I favor the derived word Patre as a nice euphemism for a caring father.

fem is from female. although there were still some people here who thought i was a man Confused
pie is just to make it complete. in english it has certain meanings, but in dutch totally not. its btw pronounced like the "pe" in the name peter.
dutch people will likely associate "fempie" with a small person... and since i am only 1.58... Smile

OK, I wanted to do this on the last thread but never did.

GooFY is not what you'd think. I work in the same office with Jasper and G.F.Y. is a, uh, um **cough* term of endearment, shall we say, that we tend to utter quite frequently.

For those of you who need a little more help, the first word is Go and the last word is Yourself.

With me & Jasper it really is meant in the nicest, and usually funniest, way possible.

I share a last name with this gifted comedian, no relation though...

My homeroom teacher in high school gave me the nickname. Nothing to do with computers or with the famous sack.
