Hey my teacher at school told me that there is a way to trace out single color images. as u would on illustrator. the only thing is i heard it takes seconds, and just a few buttons to do it on photoshop. this would save me soo much time if anyone knows how i would LOVEE to know.

perhaps your teacher is referring to the polygonal lasso tool or the magic wand...

no i dont think so because it traces it out in plots. so that a plotter can see it..like making stickers n such

Nah, I think he means that other Adobe product, Adobe Streamline. It involves paying money to Adobe for it - that's HOW. Check here:

streamline isn't *that* great, imo. And it turns everything into a vector image.

and if the Streamline thing doesn't work well enough try Flash... it does it in a different way...

I've used streamline for laying out screen printing. Works great. Just tell it how many colors you want and it separates them out for you. Yes costs money...
