Definately real...not because of the pic but because of the facts.
The hotel in the background has a website. Take a look at the bottom of the page how to reach the hotel Wink

I say it's a chop. I am not disputing the fact that planes do fly in low at that airport, I am just saying this particular photograph is a chop.

We've been talking about this in chat. We're not arguing about the fact that planes fly low. We're saying that this particular image is a chop.

- The plane casts no shadow
- The people on the beach aren't looking at it
- The people aren't ducking and their clothing isn't being blown
- The sand isn't being affected
- The plane is too sharply focused for the position it seems to be occupying in the sky

Et cetera. Smile

Check out the photographer's profile:

http://www.jetphotos.net/showphotos.php?userid=2

Something tells me he isn't chopping his pics. He hangs out on the beach all day and snaps pics of the low flying planes. It's less a case of a faked picture, and more about a bored charter jet pilot who gets a kick out of approaching the runway as low as possible. There are a couple pic in the portfolio of the same plane from different angles.

my father's a retired airline pilot. he hasn't flown in to St Maarten himself, but has seen it discussed on a private forum for airline pilots. he's not a photo expert by any means, but from his experience he thinks the picture's legit.

some of them look real...however this one doesn't appear to have all of it's landing gear down. http://www.jetphotos.net/viewphoto.php?id=426148 a co-worker noticed it, and mentioned that all 4 tires of the landing gear would need to be completely down at this point in it's approach to the runway.....unless of course it slid onto the runway Smile

Hax - No offense, but what the hell are you talking about? All of it gear are down. A 747's outer gear touch down with the 4 rear tires first, then the gear rotate under weight so the remaining 4 touch.
