It is nice to see we can keep things constructive around here. (see comments)

http://photoshopcontest.com/view-entry/75333/display.html

I was probably a little harsh with my response, but it really pisses me off when somebody publicly dumps on my work.

I never made any claims to be the best at this thing, but I tried and I had fun doing it. Duplicate, if you don't like my entry, then don't vote. If you can see a way for me to make it better, then by all means, comment. Otherwise, you can keep it to yourself.

Also, I am posting this in the forum because dup did not have the courteously to PM me about this, so I won't extend him that gesture either.

Galvatronix, pretty soon you'll learn not to take comments on posts so seriously. Smile Dupe's comment to you was mild, compared to some of the slagging that's gone on in the past. Some people have even created alter-egos for the purpose of posting negative criticism (presumably so it won't come back to bite them).

After a little bit of time, you'll develop a tough old hide, like the rest of us. In the meantime, try to remember that it's awfully hard to tell whether somebody is just kidding around or seriously meaning to be critical, just by reading words on a screen.

Happy chopping!

Extremely insightful Cynn.It would be nice if everyone
could read your words closely and consider them
a moment. You made a point in there that very few are
catching onto.
The candidness is very cool :-I

by the same token, people who post comments should also think carefully of how their words could be construed.

Cynn, I agree with you completely (also very nicely worded by the way). I went home today and thought to myself "did I just make a mountain out of a molehill?"

Since I am a newbie, the comment in question was the first that I have received which does not fit into the postive or constructive catagorie. I was just bummed out I guess.

I will also say, one of the main reasons it made me mad is that I did not spend "5 mn" on it. I am still learning quite abit about photoshop so I had to learn how to do certain things in that entry (like bend the photo in his hand).

To sum it all up, Duplicate PMed me and explained himself and apologized for the misunderstanding. I am really glad he did that. I have enough reallife foes, I don't need any online ones, Smile

Case Closed

Thanx for all your input, thank you too Feral Hamster, your posts were also very accurate.
