i think it would be lot more efficient if the default order was by most recent.
it would make it less of a first come, first serve basis.
people tend to look at the submissions in the order they're givin, this leaves less of a chance of votes for newly submitted pictures while others have been up longer and had more of a chance

If most people are like me, They look at the pages in vote order to see where everyone is placing.

It would be nice if everyone got a chance to see the image prior to any voting, but since this site needs money...

Before I got advantage I had to wait 9 hours just to start working on mine (Stupid Job) So I feel your pain. I suggest spending the 30 bucks and enjoy the benifits

you pay fro advantage, you get the advantage...pics in order they have been posted, if ya want to see most recent that option is there too, i see no reason why this should be automatic, otherwise advantage will lessen quite a bit, thats my opinion anyway, i always check out every single entry in the comps, its only fair really, some awesome stuff comes in late.

i persoanlly look at all the pics when i vote, i believe almost everyone does, if you look at peoples porfoliios including my own, some pics get lots of votes and some get only a few. you should remember as long as people are looking at them and leaving some comments (not even votes) it just makes your chopping skills much much better. i think everyone here is still learning new things!

There is definately a lot of people that do not look at the last couple pages in default.

One of the finished contests:
First page (minus winner, who had over 700 views) had and average of 234 views

The Second to Last page had an average of 57 views

That is 4 times more views. Now assuming that their vote per view percentage would remain the same, The second to last page (which has an average of 8.4 votes) would have an average of 33.6 votes if they had the same amount of views as the first. This is fairly good since the first page (not including the winner) has an average of 28.3 votes

Mo, you also have to take into the consideration the countless times people check their own chops to see the comments.

not to mention that images posted on the 2nd and 3rd day tend to have less views since most people (not all) dont look at contests after they have passed.

i think that MY pic should always be first................
