Ya know...I don't think that was really bin Laden on the last page.

Look at his avatar...what would he be doing in a bathtub?

I think it's a fake.

Well, I'm afraid it's "deja vu all over again" in London

Fortunately though, this time, despite an indentical pattern to the attacks of exactly two weeks ago of 3 explosive devices on tube (underground railway) trains and 1 on a bus, no massive detonations occurred and noone was injured (apart from, it seems, a couple of the bombers).

The situation is still a bit confused even as I write, but it appears that the devices did not fully detonate as planned, and at least 2 suspects were seen escaping from scenes of the blasts.

For the developing news on events in London, see:
BBC News (England page)
The Evening Standard (London local newspaper)
Sky News
Incidentally, one of the sites attacked this time is my local station - Shepherd's Bush Fortunately, I was nowhere near it at the time, although I was on a train heading into town when the alerts of "incidents" first came in, but I left the station it pulled into and walked once I realised there were delays (but before I'd heard the 'incidents' were more bombing attempts)

Yeah... but I'm really proud of our emergency services. They're doing a fantastic job. A shame the intelligence agencies hadn't done so well in anticipating or detecting these before the event.

Spooky parallels with NYC's Sept 11 events - fantastic bravery and heroism of the emergency services and the public, but terrible failure of intelligence.

I saw the news item about the shooting. What's not clear to me is whether it was the guy.
 I hope it was.

Yeah, but unfortunately these are such unforseen events.
That's why these bastards are so dangerous. But, yeah, hats off to the emergency services.

What a result! After arresting one of the 4 bombing suspects caught on CCTV earlier this week, police in London arrested 2 of the others today, and Italian police have arrested the fourth in Rome after a tip-off from London
Sadly though, the burial and memorial service for the innocent Brazilian Jean Charles Menezes, shot by police who mistakenly thought he was a potential bomber, are also taking place today. And the official inquiry into that has only just started...

 Dear All
Due to the recent bombing in London, there has been a tremendous push to launch the International "In Case of Emergency" (ICE) campaign.

As you know, many people were injured in these incidents. Many of those
injured were found with their cell phones. First responders used the
injured person's cell phone to try and locate a family member that they
could notify on the injured persons behalf. However the rescuers found it
difficult to locate the appropriate person.

Wireless subscribers are now being asked by Public Safety Officials all
over the world to store the word "ICE" in their wireless phone address book
and put their next of kin's phone number next to it.

In the event of an emergency, this person would be contacted quickly by
ambulance and hospital staff. It's just that easy! (Source: BBC News)

Please take a moment to program someone that you would like to be contacted
in case of an emergency into your cell phone with the word "ICE".
Public Safety officials around the world will know what this means.
Inform as many people as you can, this is a good idea.
