ayok, nice choice for the celery green shirt. Looks really good.

I'm gonna play with the B&Ws over the weekend. I got the original "hot chick's" hair to look good in only 4 layers! Now I gotta get the skin tones, teeth, eyes, clothes, background..... Shocked

so much for my 4 layers.

I have looked online many times and have never liked any colorizing tutorials that I have seen.
Yes I did colorize it and I will send a layered file to anyone who wants it. (about 100 layers) When I started I had no idea how to begin. That is why it has so many layers. Trial and error. Now I can do it in about 10 layers.

No disrespect Rey ("You are my master"). But this sounds (and looks) like you need to do a tutorial!

I prefer an older looking style of colorization. Here's one I did in highschool 2 years ago

It's a little small, incomplete, and not well done, but I lost alot of my recent colorizations when my laptop crashed

I started it and only got this far before I had to leave for work. Since it was giving me so much trouble I decided to submit as is. It kinda reminds me of the old technicolor films. Please bear in mind that this was done with Microsoft Picture it. It so happens I also lost my Corel program when my laptop crashed.

Change isn't as evident in the posted version

Also here's another one that I did recently, also on Picture It

I enjoyed viewing all of the work and images in this thread. The styles and methods of colorization are interesting, informative and helpful.

Hey Mikey, nice jorb! Very Happy

I like the soft colors.

By the way ayok I like the blue hair, it's kinda weird. I am wondering about that purpulish shadow on the left though

Here is a section of another image that I worked on.
I was supplied with the black and white and asked to colorize it.
Notice all the different colors in the hair.
