Rey, Rey... you made really a good job on those pics! And so did all the others.
For me it was really a nice challenge ... so, here are my 2 cents:

I used lots of layers for the different areas, lots of colors in all blend modes i could find, a delete tool and a brush. Furthermore i trusted my eyes for adjustments and needed loads of coffee...

Thanks for ruining 2 evenings! Laughing

Nice work Volks!! You might want to smooth out the colors in the hair. Blend them a little more. She almost looks like she has spots. Also make sure you are not going green in the hair maybe desaturate the yellow a bit too. I like how you put the pink in the corner of the eye. The shadow areas of her face need to be a little warmer. (look back at mine) Need to look like there is some blood under that skin Wink You may also want to tone back the eye color just a bit. See inside the ear area just behind the cheek? See how the flesh turns grey. Look at mine. See how it is a warm color like there is warmth and life to the flesh. Very good first try. A little work and you will be doing it for a living. Just watch out for the dead flesh areas. You want to put some warmth in that flesh. Remember underneath that skin is millions of tiny red blood vessels. Where they are closer to the surface, the face seems pinker or redder. Great job. Keep up the good work.

Hey all!

Lookie what I found today:

It's a tutorial on how to change hair color!

And what about one to balance skin tones? Okay so it's not a "colorizing" example but it helps with skin!

And even though it's not totally related to this thread I thought it was still a good find so here's a tutorial for creating beard stubble. Also how about adding tattoos to that skin? Here's another tattoo tut.

Quite a lot of good tutorials on that site. Please forgive if they've been linked elsewhere in PSC.

Found another good reference for colorizing BW pics. It was written for Fireworks but should translate to PS fairly easily.
