Look at the source at all angles" flip vertical, horizontal, 90 degrees ect... Try the polar coordinates, filter distort, polar coordinates" view the results and see if you see anything in there".. think about how you could select part of the picture, like the sky, and put a different sky into it" change picture to black and white, Image, adjustments, channel mixer, (monochromatic). try filter, stylize, find edges" try layer blending modes with different colors, use crop to get various views, look for shapes and features that stand out in the picture and focus on that and see what you can dream up" that's a few ways to get idea's Cool but most of all, pray to our Holy Spirit for idea's, and supernatural photoshop wisdom from on high! amen. Very Happy

Basically I go to sleep just after I intensly watched the source image. Usually when I wake up I've got an idea. If not, I go back to sleep again.. Ah, the advantages of being your own boss are countless Smile

Sometimes jumping of a building helps too.
While falling you see your life flashing before your eyes. Keep close attention, it might give you an idea or 2.

There's also a downside to this technique, but that's of minor importance.

Try not to think too hard. Step away from it, do something else. Think in simple. Have fun with looking at the work from different perspectives. Distort it, mirror it. Think at different levels. If it's an object ... what does it resemble? If it's a place ... possibilities are endless... If it's a person ... study their expression, what could they be thinking? .... it all depends.

Some images are harder than others. Just try not to overthink and always do it for fun and exploration (learning) and artistic expression.

i just look at the source, and pickl whatever part I know I'm gonna wanna use in a chop and I cut it out.
That usually gets the ball rolling. Sometimes it don't get too far though.

Ahh the ideas factory.

Source in genious out eh...

I find if the factory runs out of steam try resorting to old concepts you abandoned. usually ends in going off on a tangent of some kind (just kick starts the motor)

Ya know puts ya in an ideas frame of mind
