I've been using Photoshop for a year or so now and I'm pretty familiar with the interface and all of the menus, tools, etc. However, I really need to progress a bit and learn how to create some of the masterpieces that can be found on www.worth1000.com. I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction of some good tutorials that explain various Photoshop techniques used to create some of the following images:



Turning an image into glass.



Merging pictures with a painting.



Blending two animals/insects together.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Why would you come here , post way below par chops from W1K and ask for advice...from US...to help you do well at W1K?

Why not participate here, if you can do well here, you'll do well at W1k.
The sites are about equal on talent.
You will almost certainly get more support here if your trying to learn.

I am not posting here to learn "how to do well at W1K". I mean, sure, if I could ever become good enough, I would use my skills to enter some contests over there, but I really just wanna learn some of those techniques because I just wanna become a decent Photoshopper......


I really don't understand why you're getting an attitude about the whole thing but whatever.....

And another thing, nowhere in my post did I say that I wanted to enter a contest at W1K!!!

I just used some sample pics from there to get my point across. Take a chill pill, please!

Heh, well when you point at the masterful work of the folks at W1k ,
when many of them post here, and we have our own masters ya coulda pointed to,
well, what ya expect--
But hold a sec I'll point you to the tuts--also--
anytime there's something you want to try, you can ask advice here, get people to critique for ya,
stuff like that-- this place is much more 'community' based than most.

Honestly Scion, I just discovered this site and have not looked around much. I didn't mean to offend you or this community in any way. However, I have seen many amazing Photoshops over at Worth1000 and therefore, I referred to some neat pictures I found over there. I'm sorry....

PS. I take it you've got some rivalry with W1K or something......
