This was a big deal a long time ago...
the resolution was..let voters decide.

Where?????? Where does it say this??? I could be wrong. That's OK. but where does it say this???? Show me. I'm not trying to start an argument thread. Really. Just show me where it says that. I can't find it.

As i've said so many times recently..there are no rules on the site anymore.
You see any? I have no idea where they could be.
I LIKE the idea of going to source inspired chops.
It'll be a slightly different game, but it will also open doors for executing ideas.

So, Like I said, it is "Not" written. Also, like I said, It is up to the voter to decide weather or not you stayed true to the source, That is all I was trying to say. Maybe, I was confusing? It happens. Wink Laughing Laughing

It is written..ask a mod if you have to use source.
let the voters decide is how it is,
but mods DO still pull images whenever they learn there is no source in it.
I think the wire one goes too far.

Heh, the rules don't even mention that we start with a source image and manipulate it.
I was wondering why new members keep asking stupid
questions.

Here is one where the tie to the source image is VERY clear, but I think that no actual pixels from source would likely be in the final chop.

Thanks for the correction Rey, glad I hedged a bit - thats why I said "I THINK" and "would likely"!

How about this one - same idea - rebuild the view:

http://photoshopcontest.com/view-entry/100196/fannin-above.html

tie to source is VERY clear - to me this really IS in the spirit of "using" the source and is a very interesting take on the source. .

any actual pixels from source in final chop ?

EDIT! - I looked at comments, and Claf included source in here, so I guess this example doesn't hold either!

I STILL say if someone WERE to make a perspective change that retained all the elements of the original but from a different point of view by redrawing them all- then that would be using the source very well. THAT kind of chop would not in my view have to have any pixels of the source to be considered as "using" the source.

i voted for it too, I wouldn't blow off a good chop just for pushing the limits...
I'm just real reticent about using that to point out to a new member. excuse me for being overly sensitive,my fault...
it's just ..well, sheesh....just a lotta chops i've looked at lately are..confusing already...I think I like the idea of pushing that limit, and seeing what happens.

good pouint evelyn..you're talking about high quality chops, as were ReyReys......perspective changes are a traditional PSc chop and long since established an excellent way to go.
