I noticed the features before seeing the news item (hadn't refreshed yet for me). This is cool!

Excellent idea. This site keeps getting better and better all the time.

wendysmurfie (Feb 08, 2006 @ 3:29 pm)
i like the idea. But can you see at the end of the contest what people liked most about your entry? I know i would like that, not because it realy matters (because you can just choose one option) just because i'm curious about that.

Where is the "automatically wins" option? ;)

Queen La Tiff (Feb 08, 2006 @ 4:18 pm)
either I suck at Photoshop now, or this thing is costing me votes.

Trann (Feb 08, 2006 @ 4:19 pm)
I'm wondering if there will be category wins now: total votes, then most humourous, best execution, most authentic, etc.
Queen La Tiff (Feb 08, 2006 @ 4:26 pm)
You know, the more I look at this feature, the more I don't like it. For a couple of reasons, really. First, you can't always tell: is is funnier than it is well-executed? I like my vote to mean something. Also, there's no "other" button..
Queen La Tiff (Feb 08, 2006 @ 4:27 pm)
...what if I'm voting for some other reason? I really hate having to pick apart why I like something. Do I have to have a reason? At the very least, I should have the option of voting without picking a category...
Goeny (Feb 08, 2006 @ 4:28 pm)
That would be a cool idea Trann. In that way it would be possible to win with the most idiotic picture that is funny as hell, against the mainwinner who could have a perfect entry. A overall winnen with just the most votes, and 5 winners for a category.

mason4300 (Feb 08, 2006 @ 4:50 pm)
Couple of questions; If I comment on my own chop, I can select an option, and post. Does it count? Second, I have commented multiple times on my own chop, and I can pick an option again. So does that mean that the same person could "vote" multiple times

Micose (Feb 08, 2006 @ 6:20 pm)
i mean ...hem... for instance ,in France people like to class, categorize, labelize, etc... and in a way, it doesn't help at all to understand a work... and worse appreciate it. It's so much about feeling!

Feral Hamster (Feb 08, 2006 @ 9:09 pm)
ok, having cast votes w/ the new system, i must say i'm not a fan. JMH, i love that you really care about upgrading the site. But this makes voting a little more of a chore.

jmh132 (Feb 08, 2006 @ 10:30 pm)
Concerns heeded, this feature now defaults to "other".
marcoballistic (Feb 08, 2006 @ 11:04 pm)
I like it, doesn't really efect the voting, I suppose you have to think for about 3 seconds longer, and click once more, but great addition IMO, good one JMH

dbbowling (Feb 08, 2006 @ 11:51 pm)
JMH...you forgot the radio button for the pizza delivery guy.

jazgraphic (Feb 09, 2006 @ 2:06 am)
Some good additions have recently been implimented to PSC, but I don't feel this one will is necessary. I vote on impulse, my 1st reaction to a post; I don't feel it necessary to give additional study and input in order to strengthen my decision.

seamusoisin (Feb 09, 2006 @ 6:17 am)
Too much information, If a post me laugh, stare in awe at the skill, makes me wonder how to, I admire and vote! Sometimes change is good sometimes redundant! Iwould prefer we keep it simple.

Hahahahaha I agree with that:)

what about checkboxes so you can click more...humor+execution for a example???Would be cooler in the standings later on... imo

Could be also great to have a winner everyday from each category posts

HandToolUK (Feb 09, 2006 @ 9:02 am)
I'm not sure I like this change. I'll give it some time... but to be honest I reckon this is less likely to persuade me to vote not more... Guess I'll just default to "other" 99% of the time :^P
Alex (Feb 09, 2006 @ 9:20 am)
I agree with HTUK. I rarely vote only for one reason. Each and every post has something, but to be really vote wothing you have to have more than one quality. (Idea and realism, humor and execution, etc...) Bah... I'll give it a try anyway.

TofuTheGreat (Feb 09, 2006 @ 4:03 pm)
I'm glad it now defaults to "Other". Hopefully that will keep her Tiffness around. Gotta keep the hotties... I mean ladies... around here to offset the testosterone.

Queen La Tiff (Feb 09, 2006 @ 10:54 pm)
Oh you guys. I could never stay away. All I need is three squares a day, beginning with something griddled for breakfast...ha ha! But jmh, seriously it means a lot that you actually listen to people around here. Thank you.
jmh132 (Feb 10, 2006 @ 1:44 am)
I had left a blank field on the form pending feedback. The "other" option was the most requested and it made sense. Thank you. We will be using the things that you all are selecting as soon as there is enough meaningful data.

I gotta admit that my 25 hour day just became 25.25 hours long with the addition of these buttons... but the thought is good. BUT NO SOUP FOR YOU TODAY! COME BACK TUESDAY!!

I don't even like typing comments, I just want to vote.

Grefix (Mar 02, 2006 @ 3:59 am)
same idea as kooi, checkboxes would be more sufficient imho, uusall ythere's mre then 1 reason why you vote for something. Would be nice to see to too why someone voted for you. (don't shoot me coz I'm a newbie, was just a thought :p)
