The Dalai Lama has commented that animated GIF's on websites work just as well as other prayer wheels. As the GIF image turns, waves of compassion emanate in all directions to the surrounding area.

The hand only touches in one frame. I agree that it would look better if it touched more. Maybe his fingers are sore?

Lossy: don't put blurring in a gif unless you have to: it eats up the bytes! I had to blur the wheel to reduce the jerkiness. :)
