IMO: you should have some of the leafs (...is that the right word?) in front of the chameleon. Coming from the rear and over the chameleon. To make depth in the image.:-)

I see your point but he is in front of the plants and the leaves spray outwards so kind of difficult for the leaves to be in front of him...only place maybe is the tail anyhow no time now playing a gig tonight check it out tomorrow...thanks

the idea is that he is camoflaged by mimicking the plant behind him so he doesnt need to be behind any leaves to give depth...just to appear transparent to what is behind him :)

Shane tried a displacement map of source onto chameleon but wasn't very convincing so I just reduced transparency somewhat,hopefully it gives the desired effect better now,thanks for your input :)
