I thought the same thing about the reflection but then I looked at the original reflection from the source, and there were no specular highlights showing through, so I left them out.

My concern is more with the reflection looking squashed. Reflected in an overall flat surface (water) the proportions of the reflection should pretty much match the original object (of course not a verbatim mirror image). Adding ripples would be a plus.
