I'm presuming U did not click big Mango, as the engraving if anything is not as sharp as the background, yet this size looks the reverse. Also the added light source is all from above, the depth of the engraving may be throwing U on that.

It's the bevel and emboss, that adds the white highlights. That is what makes it look too smooth. Delete the highlights in the bevel and emboss and add your own. keep them rough.

I did not use bevel & emboss Rey, I will have a look at it when I get chance later, but the engraving is made up of 8 layers of line work, selections & overlays. I never use auto bevel emboss, its a little bit to generic and uncontrollable for my liking
