The drop shadow agasint the background on the lower part makes the creature flat. Remove it completelly and make other, darker, very small, only under the claws and partially the paws to make it standing.

And if you did't flatten it yet, improve the cut border of each section, it has a blue shade , which has no sense in actual environment. Hope you don't mind my comments. I like it overall, just want to see the update to be real good.
