For the other, I'm guessing the straw became a stem and the filter is (somehow) in that rose: it's nice but so hard to see where the source lies. Here, there are some focus issues with the legs but I like the subtle detail in the reflections of the hand.

Kudos to both of you for making it to the quarter-finals! I like both of these chops. On the other: BOTH a hair and a fly? Ewwww! Very nice glass work, too. On this one: Beautiful rose. I see a stirrer stem, but had trouble picking out the source... but - and it could still just be my imagination - then it seemed like the petal edges were roughly aligned with the stirrers... ?! If so: wow! But anyone voting in a hurry might miss it... Very subtle.
